How would you describe your art in three words?
Colourful, cheeky, and punchy.
Artist Renata Paton creates vibrant and delightful illustrations sure to put a smile on your face. The 26 year old artist from Melbourne, Australia, gathers inspiration mainly from two things: her love for animals, and her appreciation for bright colors; two evident factors in her work. Renata is fully devoted to her artistry, spending her weeks brainstorming fun designs and experimenting with new color palettes. Her work is innovative and unique, as she plays with unordinary templates such as a paint swatches. Renata hopes to one day pursue a career in product design and use her talent to designs illustrations for toys, apparel, interior furniture, and more. She is a limitless artist who loves what she does, and her passion and creativity is palpable when viewing her charming work.
Where/how do you gather inspiration?
Nature and vibrant cartoons, without a doubt. I love to juxtapose a cute critter with some insane colour palette; the weirder the better in my opinion! My love of cartoons, fashion, and graphic design have distilled themselves down into a passion for colour, while a lifelong love of animals has become the vehicle for that passion. There’s nothing like nailing a piece’s anatomy and colour palette!!
What do you hope audiences retain from your work?
A joy for the nature that surrounds them, as well as an appreciation for bright, beautiful colours!
